Bongbong Marcos Celebrates 67th Birthday, Distributes P3.19-B in Aid Across 82 Provinces
MARCOS – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. celebrated his 67th birthday by distributing P3.19 billion in aid to 82 provinces.
In honor of his 67th birthday on Friday, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. extended services and financial support worth approximately P3.19 billion to 82 provinces, including free tertiary hospital care in state-run facilities.
During a Guimba, Nueva Ecija, interview with reporters, Marcos expressed his desire for the betterment of the agricultural industry, as well as the livelihoods of farmers, fishermen, and livestock raisers.
While at Nueva Ecija, the President was accompanied by his two sons, Joseph Simon Marcos and Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos, the House Senior Deputy Majority Leader and Representative from Ilocos Norte.
Liza Araneta-Marcos, the first lady, wrote a heartfelt message to her husband on Facebook and Instagram, calling him the “sweetest and kindest soul I’ve ever known.”
“I’m so proud of everything you’ve accomplished, and through it all, you’ve remained the same tender-hearted, compassionate person who first captured my heart. I love you to the moon and back, and I always will,” Liza said.
As part of the “Handog ng Pangulo: Serbisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat” event, the public enjoyed food and beverages at the Malacañang grounds on Friday afternoon.
The Department of Agriculture, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the Department of Health, the Department of Trade and Industry, the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole), and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) will all receive P3.19 billion in financial aid and services, according to a statement from the Presidential Communications Office.
Of this amount, P328 million was given by the DOH to 22 government tertiary hospitals nationwide in order to cover every patient’s medical expenses on the President’s birthday.
“Our goal is to help our countrymen with their medical needs. So for this day, we will pay for all expenses of all patients in all public level 3 hospitals in the country, like the Dr. Paulino Garcia Memorial Hospital here,” Mr. Marcos said in his speech in Guimba.
According to the report, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) allocated P1.38 billion in aid, of which P1.12 billion was given under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers program, P191.83 million went toward the Integrated Livelihood Program, P53.48 million went toward the Government Internship Program, and P14.69 million went toward the Special Program for Employment of Students.
Tesda provided 7,416 spots for the enrollment of Technical and Vocational Education and Training, and it gave P46.17 million in training assistance grants to 12,038 beneficiaries.
