PAGASA Says Habagat to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau report that southwest monsoon will bring rains over some parts of the country.

On Tuesday (September 10, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA weather specialist Rhea Torres reported that fair weather condition is expected nationwide except for chances of rains over Luzon due to southwest monsoon.

“Sa Metro Manila at nalalabing bahagi ng ating bansa, wala tayong namamataan na mga sustained na kaulapan, kaya wala tayong inaasahan na mga maghapon na pag-ulan, generally fair weather conditions tayo,” Torres said.

The southwest monsoon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Ilocos Region, Zambales, and Bataan.

Torres said that a low pressure area is being monitored outside the Philippine area of responsibility. It was last spotted some 680 kilometers northeast of extreme Northern Luzon.

The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and during severe thunderstorms.
