Flooding Hits Rizal Provincial Hospital in Morong
Floodwaters have entered Rizal Provincial Hospital in Morong, Rizal, creating challenges for both staff and patients.
Sonny Kambal Natividad Dumo, a Facebook user, shared photos showing the interior of the hospital submerged in murky, brown floodwater, with people wading through it as they continue their work.
Despite the flooding, the hospital has managed to maintain its electricity supply, ensuring that critical operations can continue.
Authorities are still assessing the situation to determine if any patients need to be evacuated or if the hospital’s services have been compromised. The extent of the damage and the impact on the hospital’s operations are being closely monitored.
Meanwhile, in Barangay Hulo, Pililla, Rizal, the floodwaters have risen to alarming levels, reaching as high as chest-deep in some areas. Residents, like Eloisa Nito Villapaña, have sought refuge on the higher floors of their homes to avoid the rising water. The situation remains dangerous as the rain continues, and further flooding is expected.
The severe weather conditions are a result of Tropical Storm Enteng, which is currently moving towards the sea east of the Polillo Islands.
According to the latest bulletin from the weather bureau PAGASA, the storm remains strong, with maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour and gusting of up to 90 km/h.
The storm is expected to make landfall over Isabela or Cagayan by this afternoon or evening, with the possibility of it hitting northern Aurora as well.
Residents in affected areas, including those in Rizal, are urged to take all necessary precautions as the storm continues to bring heavy rains and strong winds.
