PAGASA Says Tropical Depression Dindo to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that tropical depression Dindo will bring rains over parts of the country.
On Monday (August 19, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Tropical depression Dindo will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA weather specialist Rhea Torres reported that tropical depression Dindo has intensified into a tropical storm. It was last spotted 640 km northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 80 kph. It is moving at 10 kph in a northeastward direction.
No Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals were raised in any part of the country.
“Dahil may kalayuan ang bagyong Dindo, wala tayong nakataas na tropical cyclone wind signal. Hindi rin inaasahan na magkakaroon ito ng direktang epekto sa saan mang bahagi ng ating bansa,” said Torres.
Tropical depression Dindo is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Thursday.
“It is forecast to move generally northward within the forecast period and exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) within the next 6 hours. Outside the PAR region, Dindo will move over the East China Sea towards either the Korean Peninsula or the coast of eastern China,” she added.
Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Batanes and Babuyan Islands. Flash floods or landslides are possible due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
The coastal water condition throughout the country will be slight to moderate. No gale warning was raised over parts of the country, according to PAGASA.
