But on top of these all, thousands were stranded on their homes during the height of the event and among those who actively participated in the rescue efforts was Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson.
Gerald was spotted saving a family in Quezon City as they were stranded due to the flood. He prioritized the kid and the elderly and in more videos circulating online, he helped more people. He was never hesitant to swim his way in the dirty flood water just to rescue people who needed help.
To recall, over 600,000 people were displaced.
People online also remembered that this is the first time the actor did this. Many years ago, Anderson also saved people during Ondoy. His consistency to help other people in times of calamity is appreciated and admired and people wished that more celebrities will follow what he did.
Those who are not a fan of him were also moved by what he did. In rescuing, he risk his life and health. People online hoped that this would inspire others.
Meanwhile, some celebrities may not do what he did but after the storm, there were several who created ways to collect donations for those who are in need. Famous celebrities used their status to call out others to help those who were affected when Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon got covered with water.
Carina did not made a landfall but it enhanced the “habagat” which resulted to the widespread flood.
