PAGASA Says LPA and Habagat to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that LPA will bring cloudy weather and scattered rains over some parts of the country.

On Tuesday (July 16, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. A low-pressure area will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Rhea Torres reported that a Low-Pressure Area would bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region.

The LPA was last spotted at 310 kilometers east northeast of Davao City. It will bring moderate to sometimes heavy rainfall.

Itong low pressure area ay inaasahang makakaapekto sa silangang bahagi ng Mindanao kaya asahan natin ang mga katamtaman hanggang sa paminsan-minsang malakas na ulan,” Torres said.

The southwest monsoon will affect the western sections of Southern Luzon and Mindanao. It will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Palawan.

Habagat will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN, Cavite, Batangas, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro.

Samantalang sa nalalabing bahagi ng ating bansa, partikular sa Southern Luzon pati na rin sa silangang bahagi ng Mindanao ay patuloy pa din ang epekto ng southwest monsoon,” Torres said.

The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over the rest of the country.

The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over western sections of Luzon and Visayas will be moderate to rough. Mindanao will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.

PAGASA did not raise a gale warning over any of the country’s seaboard.
