Construction Worker Asking for Birthday Discount on Roast Chicken Touches Netizens
A construction worker touches the hearts of netizens with his heartfelt request for a discount on a roast chicken for his child’s birthday.
Recently, Jacqueline Quibuyen, a Facebook user, shared photos of a construction worker asking discount for a ‘lechon manok’. The post went viral and garnered various reactions from the online community.
Jacqueline was waiting for customers at the store when a construction worker asked how much our roast chicken was. I told him it was P270. He then asked if there was any discount because it was his child’s birthday, and they had requested it.
The construction worker said the price was almost equivalent to a day’s work for him. Quibuyen asked how much he earned, and he said P450. He then requested just one chicken. Moved by his sincerity, Jacqueline decided to give him two roast chickens.
The store attendant quickly packed two chickens and handed them to him. When he tried to pay the P270, the kind woman told him to keep his money.
The vendor imagined how other employees earning only minimum wage manage to cover their expenses. She hopes that those of us in business can offer discounts to customers in similar situations, just to help out a bit.

“Kanina while we are waiting ng costumer sa store may construction worker na nag tanong kung mag kano lechon manok namin, then i said 270 po tapos ang sabi niya wala napo bang bawas birthday po kasi ng anak ko nagrequest kasi siya kaya yan nalang sana ihahanda namin , kayalang halos isang araw kona sa trabaho ko yung presyo, then i asked him, Magkano po ba sahod niyo sir? 450 lang kasi isang araw ko sa pag lelabor sa construction. Ah ganon po ba ang sabi ko naman. Tinanong ko kung ilan? ang sagot niya ( kahit isa lang po) Dali daling sinupot ko yung dalawang manok sabay abot sa kanya tapos tinanong ko kung pwede ko ba siyang picturan. Tapos sabay abot niya ng bayad na worth 270 pesos sabi ko hayaan niyo napo tay wag niyo napong bayaran parang ang laking tuwa sakanya nung narinig niya yung sinabi ko..
Naimagine ko pano kaya yung ibang employee na sumahod lang ng minimum pano kaya nila napag kakasya yun sa mga expenses nila at sana sa mga katulad nating nag nenegosyo pag may ganyang costumer na bumili sa inyo kahit discount nalang ibigay niyo para lang kahit papano makatulong tayo.. Because Not everybody can Afford our Product.”
