Keempee de Leon and visited his father
Actor Keempee de Leon shared that after three years, he met with his father Henyo Master Joey de Leon.
Keempee was part of the longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga for many years. However, his hosting stint in this show ended. In a statement in 2022, he said that he was removed from the show but the management did not give him a reason for this.
Issues also surfaced between Keempee de Leon and his father Joey de Leon. In 2019, Keempee appeared on It’s Showtime, which is the rival show of Eat Bulaga. He was asked if his father gave him permission.
Keempee said that he did not ask permission from his dad but it does not mean that his Showtime guesting was a form of rebellion.
In a recent article by Abante entertainment writer Jun Lalin, he shared that Keempee recently visited the TV5 studio where Eat Bulaga is currently airing to meet with his father.
The actor shared that he decided to visit his father to greet him with “Happy Father’s Day.” He stressed that it was not a guesting stint and that his sole purpose was to see Joey.
“Hindi ako nag-guest, binisita ko lang siya para greet siya ng Happy Father’s Day and nagdala lng ako ng food sa kanya, hehe,” Keempee enthused.
When asked if there was a conflict between him and his father, Keempee said that it was more on “tampo” on his side.
“Well I could say ako yung nagkarun ng tampo sa pamilya during pandemic pa. Kaya now lang din kami nagkita at nagkausap,” he shared. The actor also shared that his father was emotional but what he saw from Joey was that he was “nagulat” because he suddenly showed up. Keempee said that they haven’t been able to talk with each other for almost three years.
Jun Lalin shared that people close to Keempee de Leon and Joey de Leon expressed happiness for their reunion.
