Gerald Anderson talked about this memorable holiday experience
The Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson shared the favorite Christmas experience he had in the United States of America.
Gerald was living in the US before he permanently stayed in the Philippines and pursued a career in showbiz. As a little boy, he had fond memories of holidays in the States.
In a recent interview for his movie Rekonek, one of the official entries in Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2025, based on the article in ABS-CBN, Gerald shared the memories he had as a boy during the holidays in the US that he truly cherished.
Gerald Anderson said that Christmas is his favorite season of the year. It is because he has a lot of fun memories during this season, especially when he was young.
He related his memories to the theme of their movie. Paano kapag nawalan tayo ng internet ten days before Christmas? Can we still reconnect with our loved ones the way kung paano tayo dati nung wala pa tayong internet? Aminin natin, social media is a tool. Malaking part siya ng trabaho natin. But it can also be a distraction sa relationships, with our loved ones,” the Kapamilya actor said.
He shared that his favorite Christmas memory was when his parents gifted him with a bike. Another memorable holiday for him was when his father hurriedly woke him up, and at that time, he was just eight years old. His father pretended that someone entered their house, and he said that Santa Claus had just gone out.
Then, his father opened the door, and he saw some presents outside their house. “Kasi before ako matulog, wala pang regalo eh. Sabi nila baka raw hindi darating. Nung madaling araw, ginising ako. And then paglabas ko sa sala, punong puno naman ng regalo. And then sakto, nag-so-snow pa so may ganung snow feeling. So I’ll never forget that. That’s why I’m really excited for this movie,” Gerald enthused.
Meanwhile, aside from being one of the cast members of Rekonek, Gerald Anderson is also the movie producer. He said that he is proud of his first production credit.
To recall, he had his directorial debut in his series Sins of the Father. In Rekonek, the actor is paired with Kapamilya actress Charlie Dizon. As a couple in the movie, their characters had to navigate their relationship during holidays as the world goes offline.
