Singer Imelda Papin One of 5 PCSO Directors
IMELDA PAPIN – The Filipino singer believes that it is really her destiny to become a director of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
One of the biggest entities in the Philippines is the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office or more popularly called PCSO. Countless Filipino play the lotto games of the authorized lotto operator in the country.
The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office runs several major and minor lotto games daily. Many Filipinos hope to become lotto winners because of the monetary prizes. However, what is quite unknown to many people is that the PCSO also helps through the cash assistance it extends.
Recently, singer Imelda Papin was appointed by President Bongbong Marcos to be one of the 5 directors of the PCSO. In a recent interview, the singer revealed her belief that is really her destiny to one of the PCSO directors. Four years ago, Imelda defended herself from the tag that she’s a traitor in the Philippines.
During an interview at Mesa restaurant in Tomas Morato Avenue in Quezon City, Imelda Papin shared that when she was a child, she was told by a stranger that she will have millions of fans.
Based on an article on Pep, La Papin shared that they were in Bicol then and she was only 12 years old when an old woman came to their house. She asked the singer’s mother if there is someone living there whose birthday is January 26.
“Nung nakita niya ako, from head to toe ang tingin sa akin. ‘Itong batang ito ang bubuhay sa inyo. Paglaki nito, milyun-milyon ang magiging tagahanga,'” the singer said.
According to Imelda Papin, she then told by her mother to get the old woman something to drink. However, when she returned with the drink, the old woman was no longer there.
“I swear to God! Kaya ngayon, nakakapangilabot, di ba? Bakit ako nasa PCSO ngayon? Sa haba ng panahon…” she said.
La Papin also recalled the tap of the late former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. to her. He believes that being the director of the PCSO is the start of what the late President meant.
“Itong PCSO, probably this will be the start of that ano ni Presidente sa akin. Yung responsibility that he gave me… Yung sinabi niya when he rubbed my back three times, may ibibigay siyang something. Pagkatapos nun, sabi niya, ‘It’s done.'” the singer said.
Based on the article, Imelda Papin is excited to be back in public service through the PCSO. She affirmed to focus on PCSO as she really wants to serve the Filipinos.
