Jeepney Driver Who ‘Body-Shamed’ Passenger Issued Show Cause Order by LTFRB
MANILA, PHILIPPINES – LTRFB has issued a show-cause order against the jeepney driver who allegedly body-shamed a passenger.

On Tuesday (June 11, 2024), the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) plans to summon the jeepney driver accused of body-shaming a passenger.
The LTFRB released the decision after a complaint was lodged by a 29-year-old passenger and a viral video highlighting the incident. According to the passenger, the jeepney driver demanded she get off the vehicle due to her weight, even blaming her for causing a flat tire.
The agency instructed the jeepney driver and his operator to appear at a hearing scheduled for June 14, 2024 (Friday). The document states that the hearing will address multiple issues, employing a discourteous driver, failing to convey a passenger, and violating safe space regulations in public transportation.
The LTFRB emphasized the importance of attending the hearing.
“Failure on your part to appear before this Board on the date mentioned above shall be considered as a waiver on your part to be heard and this case shall be decided on the basis of the evidence presented and the records of the Board,” the order stated.
