PNP Gains Access to Pastor Quiboloy’s Compound in Davao City
PASTOR QUIBOLOY – Philippine National Police (PNP) entered Pastor Apollo Quiboloy’s compound in Davao City.
Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, a well-known religious leader and ally of former President Rodrigo Duterte, is currently confronted with multiple arrest warrants relating to accusations such as child abuse, sexual assault, trafficking, exploitation, and discrimination.
In a previous article, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has urged Quiboloy, the head of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ ministry, to surrender as he could not be located in Calinan district, Davao City.
Based on a report from ABS-CBN, tension escalated outside the Kingdom of Jesus Christ premises in Sasa, Davao City early Monday as over 100 police officers from various Philippine National Police units arrived reportedly to execute a warrant against Quiboloy. It remains unclear whether the police served a search or an arrest warrant.
Supporters gathered at the entrance gate to demand “justice” for the pastor, who is still at large. One supporter used a megaphone to defend Quiboloy against the accusations he faces.
Apollo Quiboloy and his supporters have refuted the allegations of sexual abuse and trafficking, asserting that these claims stem from former members holding grudges against the religious group. He has also denied accusations of rape, suggesting instead that his female followers vie for his attention.
PNP personnel, including those in helicopters, managed to enter the KOJC compound, but there has been no update from the police on their findings inside.
