P-pop star Josh Cullen, one of the members of SB19, talked about his new song Sumaya which is about the pain of moving on,” Josh Cullen said, adding that it is delving into the pain and sadness of moving on while still cherishing the happy moments that happened in the relationship.

The P-pop star pointed out the line, “kapag naihatid ka, di na kita susunduin” and he said that this “captures that final, painful goodbye.”

He also revealed that this line was based on his and his co-producer/co-writer Kael Guerrero’s personal experience which makes the song very personal and emotional for both of them.

Alongside with the release of the song on different music streaming platforms, Josh also released the official music video.

β€œIn the music video for Sumaya, I wake up in a house filled with the most important memories of my life, memories of someone I love deeply. As I touch these objects, they start to disintegrate, and I realize it’s because of me,” he shared.

Josh added that as this moment continued, he found himself shifting between reality and the void as he was also trying to “escape overwhelming chaos and emotions happening all at once.”

Without forgetting these memories, Josh said that he needs to accept and release what he can control.
