Recently, the TikTok account “officialdailydrip,” shared a video of a street kid named Butchoy who saves coins to fund his education. The video went viral online and garnered various reactions from the internet users.
According to the video uploader, as the store was about to close, Butchoy approached them and started sharing his story. He talked about his life and family, revealing that he was extremely hungry but was trying to endure it.
The TikTok user offered to buy him food before the store closed. Initially, Butchoy was hesitant and shy, reluctant to accept the offer. The business owner insisted, reassuring him that it was no trouble.
“Habang nagkekwento si Butchoy, nabangit nyang gutom na gutom na daw sya pero titiisin na lang daw nya. Sabi ko order na sya habang hindi pa sarado at ako na ang bahala,” the uploader said.
Eventually, Butchoy agreed and sat down to eat. While enjoying his meal, he showed the coins he had collected. He explained that he was saving these coins to pay for his education.

“Nung una tumatanggi sya at nahihiya daw sya, sabi ko, sige, ako na lang oorder at upo ka na dyan. Habang kumakain si Butchoy, pinakita nya sakin yung mga barya na nahingi nya. Iniipon nya daw yung mga barya para makapag-aral daw sya,” the uploader added.
Butchoy’s happiness was obvious as he ate, but so were the signs of his exhaustion and hunger. Many were inspired by his determination to improve his situation through education, despite the difficulties he faced.
