Former Sen. Bam Aquino Ready To Return to Politics in 2025
BAM AQUINO – Former Senator Paolo Benigno Aquino IV confirmed that he is preparing for his return to Philippine politics this 2025.
The Aquino is one of the most popular surnames in the Philippine politics. Two (2) former presidents of the country, the late Philippine Presidents Cory Aquino and Noynoy Aquino III, came from the clan. Another prominent Aquino in the field is former Sen. Paolo Benigno Aquino IV.
Former Sen. Paolo Benigno Aquino IV is more popularly known as Bam Aquino. He was a senator from 2013 to 2019 but he lost his senatorial bid in the 2019 midterm polls. He ran as one of the slate members of the Otso Diretso.
In May 2022 elections, Aquino did not ran for an elective post. Instead, he was the campaign manager of then-presidential candidate and former Vice President Leni Robredo.
Now that the 2025 mid-term election is fast approaching, former Sen. Bam Aquino confirmed that they are already preparing for his comeback in politics. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, speaking to ANC, the former Senator said that what urges him to run for a post is that a lot of complicated issues are “not given much attention”.
Aquino cited national issues such as the rising prices of goods, education crisis, and low salaries for Filipinos. According to the former Senator, these complicated issues are not easy to solve and there are a lot of challenges along the way.
“Marami kang kailangang banggain para makamit mo ‘yung mga kailangan mong makamit para sa taumbayan,” Aquino said.
Former Sen. Bam Aquino also stressed that the government also needs people who will work and are ready to be the voice of the voiceless. Based on the article, the former Senator is set to lead the Katipunan ng Nagkakaisang Pilipino (KANP) which is the youngest political party in the country.
Aquino is the chairman of KANP. According to the former Senator, he left the Liberal Party in 2019 but it was not publicized since he’s a private citizen. He revealed that the KANP was formed in 2021 when they were preparing for the presidential candidacy of Robredo.
