THEFT – A man allegedly robbed P150,000 worth of money and property from the family that took him in.

Theft is the act of taking someone else’s property without permission with the intention of permanently depriving them of it. It is a criminal offense and is considered unlawful and unethical.

Theft can involve various forms, such as stealing money, goods, services, or even ideas. It can occur in different settings, including personal property theft, shoplifting, burglary, robbery, and identity theft.

The extent of theft charges and fines vary depending on the value of the stolen items and the situation surrounding the crime.

On Sunday afternoon (April 7, 2024), a netizen named Ken was doing a Facebook Live while cooking fishballs. The man who approached him for fishballs introduced himself as Jason, a former street dweller who Ken’s father had taken in to help around the house.

Jason had been living with Ken for three months, but last Sunday, Ken noticed that his phone was missing.

Upon checking the CCTV footage, he saw how the suspect had ransacked the house, taking seven cellphones, a laptop, power tools, shoes, P10,000 cash, and a full piggy bank. In total, about P150,000 worth of items were stolen. The victim has filed a complaint with the police.

Ken is also saddened by the lesson learned from the incident.
