PAGASA Says Easterlies to Prevail Over Most Parts of PH

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that easterlies will bring isolated rains over parts of the country.

On Tuesday (April 9, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies will bring cloudy skies with isolated rains over parts of the country.

PAGASA weather specialist Rhea Torres reported that easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and/or thunderstorms over Visayas, Palawan, including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.

Similar weather condition is expected over the Bicol region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon as well as Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

However, slightly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may still be experienced from afternoon to evening.

Meanwhile, the entire country will still experience hot and humid weather due to the effects of easterlies.

“Patuloy pa rin ang pag-iral ng easterlies or ‘yung mainit na hangin na nanggagaling sa dagat Pasipiko sa buong bansa, at wala po tayong namamataan na sama ng panahon na posibleng magdulot ng maghapon na mga pagulan,” said Torres.

No low-pressure areas are being monitored within or outside the Philippine area of responsibility, according to Torres.

The coastal water conditions over northern and western sections of Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The rest of Northern Luzon and the remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.

PAGASA did not raise any gale warning over any parts of the country’s seaboard.

“Wala po tayong gale warning ngayon, ibayong pag-iingat lamang sa may mga planong pumalaot lalung-lalo na sa baybayin ng extreme northern Luzon dahil inaasahan po natin ‘yung katamtaman hanggang sa maalon na karagatan,” Torres added.
