Alleged ‘Aswang’ Slaughtered 12 Fighting Cocks in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental
12 fighting cocks in Barangay Caduha-an, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental were allegedly slaughtered by an alleged aswang.
An “aswang” is a mythical creature from Filipino folklore often depicted as a shape-shifter with supernatural powers. It is believed to be a creature of the night, capable of transforming into various forms such as a bat, a dog, or a blackbird.
The aswang is feared for its ability to prey on humans and animals, often sucking the blood of its victims or consuming their flesh.
On Monday night (March 18, 2024), the discovery of 12 slaughtered fighting cocks causes fear among locals who suspect that an “aswang” may be responsible for the horrifying act. The post garnered various reactions from the netizens.
Around 11:00 p.m., the owner of the chickens recounted that they heard their chickens making unusual noises outside their house, accompanied by the barking of their dog.
Concerned, they went outside to investigate and were startled to see a woman with long hair, dark skin, red eyes, and wearing black clothes. Due to fear, the owner decided to ignore the woman and went back to bed.
However, at around 4:00 in the morning, they were shocked to discover their 12 fighting cocks lifeless, with no blood and guts left in their bodies. The owner believes that the woman they saw the previous night, whom they suspect to be an “aswang,” was responsible for killing their fighting cocks.
Their suspicion was strengthened by the strange behavior of their CCTV, which recorded the incident and mysteriously stopped working for 30 minutes.
Additionally, they ruled out the possibility of a dog or wild cat being the culprit, as their chicken coop is surrounded by high walls. They immediately buried their dead chickens, hoping to put an end to the disturbing ordeal.
