ED SHEERAN – British singer-songwriter superstar Ed Sheeran sang his favorite karaoke tune before taking the concert stage for his “Mathematics” tour.

Before his successful concert in the Philippines, Ed Sheeran enjoyed some leisure time by engaging in a beloved Filipino tradition—karaoke. The English singer-songwriter playfully shared a video on Instagram, featuring him pushing a karaoke machine backstage to showcase to his team, concert organizers, and opening acts Calum Scott and Ben&Ben.

In a previous article, the nine-piece Filipino indie folk-pop band expressed their reaction on social media after their encounter with Ed. They also posted a backstage photo with him.

Equipped with the karaoke machine, Ed Sheeran proceeded to move around, encouraging those in his vicinity to join him in singing various tunes.

“We have a portable karaoke machine. Because karaoke is very popular in the Philippines and we’re going to sing some songs,” said Ed.

The video captured moments of singing popular songs like ABBA’s “Dancing Queen,” Maroon 5’s “This Love,” Frank Sinatra’s “My Way,” Beyonce’s “Love On Top,” and even Ed’s own track “Thinking Out Loud.”

Before arriving in the Philippines, Ed had visited a karaoke place in Jakarta, Indonesia, where he pleasantly surprised a group of teenagers showcasing their singing talents.

Ed’s visit to the Philippines was part of his ongoing Mathematics Tour, with the concert taking place on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Parañaque City.

Throughout the concert, Ed consistently encouraged the audience to join in and sing along, rewarding their participation with approving smiles.

The performance featured a substantial selection of his songs, including popular hits like “Perfect,” “Happier,” and “Thinking Out Loud.”
