Claudine Barretto Recalls The Time When Jaclyn Jose Called Her “Bastos”
In an interview, Claudine Barretto emotionally recalled this time.
Deeply in grief, actress Claudine Barretto shares the time when her “Nanay” Jaclyn Jose got mad at her and called her “Bastos ka”.
Mary Jane Guck or more popularly known as Jaclyn Jose died because of a heart attack. Her sudden death left many people heartbroken and the whole industry grieving and mourning. We just lost another gem.
Jose is survived by two children: Andi Eigenmann and Gwen Garimond Ilagan Guck.
Among those she has always treated as her won child and she would even call her “panganay” is Claudine Barretto. They have worked together in the original “Mula Sa Puso” and their closeness and mother-daughter bond was built there.
They live 11 houses apart and now that she’s gone, one of the regrets of the Optimum Actress is not being able to talk to her. It has been three months since they have seen each other and she deeply regrets this.
In an interview with Ogie Diaz, the actress recalled some of their fondest memories and one of them was when the late multi-awarded actress got mad at her. It was the time when she and her sisters made a scene in their father’s wake and in the presence of the president then Rodrigo Duterte.
She accordingly did not talk to her for two months.
“Pag nagalit siya sa’kin takot na takot talaga ako. Sabi niya sa akin, ‘Bastos ka!’ nung namatay ang daddy ko kasi nagkaaway-away. Sabi niya, ‘Bastos ka, hindi mo na nirespeto ang daddy mo. Wala akong pakialam sa mga kapatid mo dahil hindi kami close pero ikaw anak kita. Bakit mo ginawa yun?” she said based on the video.
She was crying while recalling this time when she was still alive as she really stood like a mother to her when she was still alive. She was emotional the whole time she was telling the other fond memories she had with her.
