The daughter of Lolit Solis shared this story
Angel Lizza Pasamonte, aka Sneezy Solis McDonald, the daughter of the late veteran showbiz writer Lolit Solis, said how they were raised.
Lolit passed away on July 3, and celebrities in the Philippine entertainment industry paid tribute to her, especially those whose careers were handled by her as a talent manager.
Stories of love and anecdotes were shared at her wake. Many people in the entertainment industry attested to how Lolit valued the bond she had with certain people.
In a recent interview, the eldest daughter of Lolit Solis shared how the late talent manager to her and her younger sister Sloopy aka Michelle, as a mother, based on the article in PEP.
Sneezy said that somehow, she felt sad when she would hear stories about her mom. She had that perception that Lolit was just a mother to them. “Parang, ‘Ay! Mommy ko siya!’ Mommy lang siya, hindi ko siya ma-imagine as like… as a friend, as ano,” Sneezy shared.
“Na mom na nurturing and stuff. Kasi sa amin, hindi, e. Kasi nga, lagi kong sinasabi — she’s not a good mom, pero she’s like the best dad,” Sneezy said.
She also said that she saw that motherly image of her mom in how she handled her talents. Lolit Solis was a single mom. Sneezy was just about two years old when her parents separated.
The late showbiz writer was not like a traditional mom to them because Lolit had to be strong. Lolit had to work not just for her and her sister, but also for their whole family.
However, Sneezy stressed that it was not a “sama ng loob.” She said that it was more of a wish for them. Lolit’s eldest daughter added that she understands this more now that she is also a mother.
Sneezy also shared that she and her mother became close when she was already staying in the US. “Tapos hindi naman siya techie. Hindi siya marunong yung mga Viber, hindi siya marunong. So, hanggang text lang siya. Actually later on nga lang siya natuto ng emoji. Yung mga huling text niya sa akin na may mga heart-heart na siya,” Lolit Solis’s daughter shared.
