Before the death of Jaclyn Jose, she was still doing “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo”. She was playing the character of Chief Dolores Espinas in the series. The actress born Mary Jane Guck in real life was 60 years old when she died of heart attack.
In a previous article, Andi Eigenmann became emotional over the eulogy of actor Coco Martin. This was during the ABS-CBN tribute for the late Cannes Best Actress winner. The other award-giving bodies that recognized this true icon are Gawad Urian, Famas, Luna Awards, and many others.
With the last series she was working with Martin, the actor shared what happened on what turned out to be her last day of shooting with them. According to the actor and director of the series, on February 28, 2024, she was already acting strange.
On that day, she was doing this scene with Ivana Alawi but she delivered a sad emotion which is not required for that particular scene. It was “out of character”. They made her shoot that scene again but the late actress still delivered the sad emotions.
In another scene which was with him, she was again emotional wherein she was supposed to be angry and threatening. With these happenings, he decided to talk to her and that was when she expressed what truly felt.
“Kasi, ano e, nalulungkot ako dahil unti-unti nang nawawala yung characters, unti-unti nang nag-aalisan, kumbaga, yung grupo…” this was accordingly her response to his queries.
She was saddened because the artists she eventually got attached are going one by one.
The premonition
During their event in Baguio, Jaclyn, whom she fondly calls “Mommy Jane”, was the subject of their talks. He would often find himself talking about her to his co-stars.
On March 3, the reports about her death surfaced and that was when he got the feels for why he was talking about her all the time before this day.
“Sabi ko na lang sa sarili ko, nung gabi pala na, naiisip ko siya nung hapon pa lang, ramdam ko nagpaparamdam siya sa akin, hindi ko maintindihan, kung bakit ko siya lagi kinukuwento, kung bakit ko siya lagi nababanggit. Yun pala, may nangyari na pala sa kanya.”
For now, they don’t know how her story in “Batang Quiapo” would turn out without her. It is still a bit complicated to figure things out from this point because of her sudden death.
