Jake Ejercito talked about his daughter
Kapamilya actor Jake Ejercito shared his thoughts on surfer Philmar Alipayo as the stepdad of his daughter Ellie and his co-parenting situation with actress Andi Eigenmann.
Jake had Ellie with Andi at a young age. Although they were both so young back then, they faced their new responsibility as parents to their daughter. Jake and Andi’s relationship ended but their role as parents in the life of Ellie will continue.
The young girl obviously has a strong connection to her father and mother. At times, Jake would share his bonding moments with Ellie and sometimes she would spend time with Andi, her half-siblings, and her stepdad Philmar.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Bandera, Jake Ejercito is thankful that Philmar Alipayo is doing a great job as Elli’s stepdad.
The actor said that it is Ellie who would decide to whom she will be. “Nowadays, since they moved to Siargao, wala nang fixed schedule. Dati kasi dito, binibilang pa namin ni Andi ‘yung mga araw—back then we were young, immature, prideful. Pero ngayon naman, si Ellie na ‘yung nagde-decide,” he said.
Jake also shared that he and Andi would talk to each other if needed. Although they are not the best of friends, they both have a common goal and this is to give the best for Ellie. The actor shared that most of the time he and Andi would talk about Ellie’s education, health, and anything about their daughter.
“Open communication—I think that’s what’s important sa co-parenting,” Jake said. The actor shared that he met Philmar several times when he would go to Siargao. He is thankful for the presence of Andi’s presence in the life of Ellie.
“Thankful lang din ako sa kanya kasi syempre si Ellie nakatira sa bahay nila and, as a stepfather, I’m sure inaalagaan niya rin si Ellie,” Jake Ejercito said, adding that he knows he has nothing to worry when his daughter is not by his side.
