PAGASA Says Shear Line to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that the shear line will bring scattered rains over some parts of the country.
On Tuesday (February 13, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The shear line and the easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA reported that the shear line is affecting the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas and will bring rain showers.
The easterlies and shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Bicol Region, Aklan, Capiz, Marinduque, Romblon, Oriental Mindoro, and Quezon.
“We have some areas experiencing cloudy skies at the moment due to the effects of weather systems affecting certain parts of our country,” Pagasa expert Rhea Torres said.
Amihan will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the remaining parts of the country.
The weather agency has warned the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.
About 4.5 meters of waves are expected over Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and Visayas due to rough to very rough seas.
No low-pressure area forming was seen in the Philippine area of responsibility.
