Jiro Manio Unveils the Deep Reasons Behind His Decision to Stay Away from Acting
JIRO MANIO – Former child actor Jiro Manio unveiled the deep personal motivation behind his decision to stay away from acting.
Former child actor Jiro Manio spoke about his decision to temporarily step away from showbiz. He reportedly wants to explore other job opportunities that would provide a more comfortable feeling for him.
In an interview with PEP.ph, Jiro mentioned that his decision not to act in front of the camera is related to his mental health. He shared that he is following the advice of his doctor to refrain from acting for the time being.
According to Jiro Manio, portraying certain characters and dealing with the situations or scenes in his projects could affect his emotions negatively. “Nag-iingat ako kasi baka maulit yung nangyari dati, nung tinutulungan ako ni Miss Ai, tapos umayaw ako,” Jiro referring to the help that Comedy Queen Ai-Ai delas Alas gave him.
The former actor said that he values his mental health a lot. “Nakapirma ako noon ng kontrata sa GMA-7 para sa Magpakailanman tapos hindi natuloy. Pinag-workshop ako ni Miss Ai, umayaw ako kasi nanginginig ako sa gamot.”

According to Jiro, his condition is better now. “Mas okay na ako ngayon kasi naipaliwanag sa akin na mabuti sa Bataan ang mga dapat iwasan. Saka willingness din na gumaling, yun ang importante.”
The rehabilitation center in Bataan that Ai-Ai sent Jiro to in 2015 is the place referred to by the former award-winning child actor. This rehabilitation center played a significant role in Jiro’s life because, after his recovery, he became a volunteer staff member there, although only for a brief period.
