STAR CINEMA MOVIES – The list is dominated by the films of Vice Ganda and “Rewind” is poised to be the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time.

The Filipino film industry is alive again. The highs and lows are normal but after several years of drought because of COVID-19, the life in box-office returned again and the results of MMFF 2023 revenue is the proof.

All of the movies performed well but the one performed the best is “Rewind”, a film produced by Star Cinema, APT Ent., and Agosto Dos Media.

As much as we all know, Star Cinema has always been known to deliver well in terms of bringing us movies may it be romance or comedy. Through the years, here are the movies from Star Cinema and that raked in huge ticket sales and broke box-office records.

Hello, Love, Goodbye
This film stars Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards. It’s worldwide gross is over Php 880 million.
Rewind
This Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes film now poised to be the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time title. As 3 PM of January 17, 2024, it crossed the Php 845 million mark in terms of the worldwide gross.
The Hows Of Us
This is the last film Kathryn and Daniel Padilla did before they announced their separation. In just 20 days, THOU achieved a domestic gross of more than Php 600 million.
The Super Parental Guardians
This is a comedy film starring superstars Vice Ganda and Coco Martin. Reportedly, the film earned Php 598 million and this is the same film that recorded the highest earnings on it’s opening day which was at Php 75 million.
Fantastica
Another Vice Ganda film that earned Php 596 million in worldwide gross. This film also gathered three popular love teams — Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte, Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber, and Kisses Delavin and Donny Pangilinan.
The Revenger Squad
This is another film of Vice Ganda. It earned Php 571 million after its run. This record was surpassed by Fantastica.
A Second Chance
This is the sequel of the hugot film “One More Chance” and also marked the comeback of Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz love team. It made a lot of cry and told a lot of lessons about love, marriage, and life. The total reported earnings of this film was Php 556,000,000.00. This is the first Filipino film to cross the Php 500 million-mark in terms of earning.
Beauty and the Bestie (Php 526 million), The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin (Php 455 million), Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy (Php 427 million)
These three films are the comedy films of Vice Ganda. Beauty and the Bestie was with Coco Martin, The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin was the second installment of his hit film Praybeyt Benjamin, and the last one, the Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy, was with Maricel Soriano.

The other films are Starting Over Again (over Php 400 million), My Ex and Whys (Php 341 million), Sisterakas (Php 393 million), It Takes A Man and a Woman (Php 405 million), Ang Panday, and Alone/Together (Php 350 million).
