MMFF 2023 Total Earnings Revealed, Top Box-Office Films

Here are the reported total earnings of MMFF 2023 and the top earners of this year’s festival.

MMFF 2023 – This year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is a success and here are the total earnings and the top earners.

The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2023 is running from December 25, 2023 to January 7, 2024. In this year’s film festival, 10 entries have joined and the response from the moviegoers in terms of support is overwhelming.

The MMFF Gabi Ng Parangal declared Cedrick Juan for “Gomburza” and Vilma Santos for “When I Met You In Tokyo” as Best Actor and Best Actress.

JC Santos for “Mallari” is the Best Actor and Miles Ocampo for “Family Of Two” is the Best Actress. In terms of the earnings, the film festival emerged triumphant as they achieved a remarkable feat by securing a new box office record – the most substancial since their retujrn after the pandemic. 

MMFF 2023

As of January 2, 2024, the total box office gross soared past the 700 million. This is according to Chairman of MMFF, Atty. Don Artes.

“Nareach na po namin ‘yung target na gross reciepts at meron pa po tayong natitirang 4 na araw na showing so ang tinitingnan namin ay kung magpapatuloy ‘yung dagsa ng tao sa sinehan ay baka po madoble ang kinita nitong nakaraang taon,” says the MMFF Chairman.

As per the reports, the DongYan comeback film “Rewind” is the top-earner of this year and is expected to cross the 400 million pesos mark in the coming days. Among those that showed commendable box office performances are:

  • Mallari
  • Gomburza
  • Firefly
  • A Family of Two

The 10 MMFF official movie entries are:

  3. “Penduko” (Sari Sari Network)

  6. “Becky and Badette” (The IdeaFirst Company)
  7. “Mallari” (Mentorque and Clever Minds Inc.)
  8. “Firefly” (GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs)
  9. “Broken Hearts Trip” (BMC Films in partnership with Smart Films)
  10. “GomBurZa” (JESCOM Films and MQuest Ventures)
