Badrina shared a heartfelt moment featuring a photo of his mother and the groceries they purchased for ‘Noche Buana’. The post circulated online and elicited reactions from the internet users.
Ka Obet shares that his parents always told them they were poor while growing up, and there were many things they couldn’t afford. He is happy that they now do their grocery shopping and buy everything they need.
“For context lang.. growing up lagi sinasabi ng parents ko na mahirap kami kaya maraming bagay ang hindi namin kayang bilhin. Iba na ngayon, masaya ako na kahit papaano kaya na naming magrocery at bumili ng lahat ng kailangan namin,” he said.
The journalist recounted their first time receiving a ham from his dad’s company. Since then, he always made sure to have ham at home during Christmas and to save up for Noche Buena groceries.
“Masaya ako sobra kasi masasabi ko na hindi pa rin naman kami mayaman pero malayo na kami sa buhay namin noong bata kami. Grade 3 ako unang naalala na may ham kami bigay ng kumpanya ng tatay ko na laborer. Kaya yata I always make sure na may hamon sa bahay kapag pasko. Kaya pinagipunan ko rin talaga yung noche buena grocery namin,” he explained.
