Jigger Geverola, the alleged pawnshop robbery mastermind is planning to attend the oathtaking ceremony after he was released.

Jigger Geverola, a new Bar passer, is hoping to attend the oathtaking and admission ceremony for new lawyers in Manila on December 22, 2023 (Friday), to become a fully pledged lawyer.

On Monday (December 18, 2023), the alleged robbery mastermind was released from police custody after the Cebu Prosecutor’s Office dismissed the Robbery in Band complaint filed against him. The decision was made due to insufficient evidence.

The suspect was linked to the robbery incident at Oro Sugbo Pawnshop in Colon, Cebu City, on November 25, 2023. He was even tagged as the mastermind of the pawnshop robbery by two accused, Jordan Baquiano and Dan Carlo Flores, Geverola.

The prosecution, however, determined that the statements were insufficient to show a conspiracy between Geverola and the accused in the robbery.

“Lipay ko unya maka-process ko, kung maapas man, ang pag-sign sa roll of attorneys nga gi-schedule karong December 22 sa SM Pasig,” Geverola said.

Geverola is hoping that he can participate in the oathtaking since the case has not yet reached the court.

Expressing his commitment to resolving the case and holding the real culprits accountable. He also urged the police to conduct further investigations into the case to prevent innocent individuals from facing prosecution.
