It has been over three years since Sarah Geronimo and Matteo Guidicelli married in a Christian ceremony in Taguig. However, what was supposed to be a blissful affair was marred by controversy following family drama.
It turned out that the wedding of Sarah and Matteo was not just a secret to the public but also to the Popstar’s family.
Sarah’s mom Divine reportedly showed up unexpectedly and made a scene in a situation that appeared to be their post-wedding event. Since they tied the knot, the two have been enjoying their married life.
However, in an interview with Luis Manzano, Matteo recalled that the early months of their wedding were spent in lockdown. The actor shared that shortly after they married, the lockdowns happened which lasted for months.
The situation for the whole country was devastating but for him, the time he spent with her was enjoyed most. They get to share a place just the two of them and they get to wake up with each other and do everything they want right after.
“We’re stuck in a condo for six months. It was bittersweet because talagang first time namin magkasama sa isang bahay at araw-araw kaming magkasama. Ako, I enjoyed it, hundred percent, ups and downs, drama,” he said.
In the same interview, Luis and Matteo, who are good friends in real life, also talked about their lives as husbands to female celebrities. They can relate to some things about marriage and they’ve found similarities in their situation.
Matteo, in his marriage, learned patience but as for Luis, he learned compromise which the former also agreed to.
Meanwhile, Sarah and Matteo’s engagement announcement happened in 2019 and the following year, that was when they tied the knot in a secret Christian wedding.
