Draymond Green to Face Another Ban Over Hit to Jusuf Nurkic

Draymond Green Faces Another Ban After Hitting Jusuf Nurkic

Golden State Warriors (GSW) star player Draymond Green will face another ban after hitting Jusuf Nurkic of Phoenix Suns.

The NBA suspended Warriors forward Draymond Green indefinitely on Wednesday following his punch at Suns center Jusuf Nurkić. The incident occurred early in the third quarter of Tuesday night’s game in Phoenix, resulting in Green receiving a Flagrant 2 and immediate ejection.

Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 24 points, but the third quarter was overshadowed by Green’s 18th career ejection, the most among active NBA players. The altercation between Green and Nurkić happened as they were vying for position, leading to Green unexpectedly hitting Nurkić in the face.

Despite Nurkić momentarily going down, he got back up and continued playing. Referees reviewed the play, and Green received a Flagrant 2 foul, leading to his automatic ejection. The Warriors lost 119-116 to the Phoenix Suns.

After the game, Green apologized to Nurkić, stating, “I didn’t intend to hit him. I sell calls with my arms, so I was selling the call, and I swung, and unfortunately I hit him.”

“I made contact with him. As you know, I’m not one to apologize for things I meant to do, but I do apologize to Jusuf, because I didn’t intend to hit him,” he added.

According to the report, Green’s three ejections in the season are tied for his most. The first occurred on November 11 against the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the second on November 14 against the Minnesota Timberwolves, resulting in a five-game suspension due to Green’s history as a repeat offender.
