#WalangPasok: Class Suspensions for Wednesday (November 22, 2023)

Class Suspensions for Wednesday (November 22, 2023) Due to Effects of Earthquake, Transport Strike and Bad Weather

WALANG PASOK – Several local government units declared class suspensions due to the effects of the earthquake, bad weather, and a transport strike.

The Pinagkaisang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Operators Nationwide (PISTON) imposed a three-day nationwide transport strike from November 20 to November 23, 2023.

The move aims to express their concern regarding the PUV Modernization Program. The program would affect the livelihoods of thousands of Filipino jeepney drivers and operators.

Class Suspensions

Recently, another transport group MANIBELA joined the strike adding to the challenges faced by students and workers. It contributes to the decision to suspend classes and work in affected areas.

On Wednesday (November 22, 2023), face-to-face classes were suspended in various areas across the Philippines due to the result of the nationwide transport strike, adverse weather conditions, and the recent magnitude 6.8 earthquake that rattled Davao Occidental last week.

Several regions and provinces have been affected by these unexpected incidents, prompting authorities to temporarily halt in-person classes to ensure the safety and well-being of students.
