Ride-Hailing App Driver Shows Concern for UPCAT Applicant Who Missed Her Exam

A ride-hailing app driver earned praise online for showing concern toward a UPCAT applicant who was unable to make it to her examination.

Recently, Mai, a Facebook user, commended the ride-hailing app driver for the care and support he showed her after she failed to arrive at her exam on time. Her post quickly went viral and drew reactions from netizens online.

According to Mai, she left home early on August 2, 2026, and booked a Move It ride to her testing center in Antipolo City. Since she was traveling from a distant location, she wanted to make sure she arrived on time for University of the Philippines College Admission Test (UPCAT) exam.

However, what was supposed to be a simple trip became a stressful journey. Mai accidentally pinned the wrong location, and even Google Maps reportedly directed them to the wrong places.

As a result, she and the rider, identified as Jeffrey, spent more than an hour searching for the correct testing center.

Despite the confusion, Jeffrey remained patient and determined to help. He continued asking guards, passersby, and other people for directions. Instead of giving up, he stayed with Mai and did his best to find the correct venue before the exam started.

Unfortunately, time ran out. Realizing she would no longer be able to arrive before the deadline, Mai decided not to continue to the testing center. Feeling overwhelmed and disappointed, she got off the motorcycle and called her mother while trying to cope with missing the opportunity to take the UPCAT.

After a few moments, Mai was surprised when Jeffrey returned. Concerned for her safety, he did not want to leave her alone in an unfamiliar place. He offered to bring her to a location where she could safely get home and did not ask for any additional payment for the extra time and effort.

Mai later shared her gratitude online, saying that although she missed the exam, she gained a valuable reminder that genuine kindness still exists.
