Class Suspensions for Friday (November 17, 2023) Due to Heavy Rains
WALANG PASOK – Some local government units declared class suspensions due to heavy rains brought by the amihan and shear line.
On Friday (November 17, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration reported that the shear line and amihan are expected to bring heavy rains to several areas.
The eastern section of Visayas will be affected by the shear line, while Luzon will experience the impact of the northeast monsoon. Meanwhile, the rest of the country can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

A low-pressure area located east of northeastern Mindanao is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility today. It was last spotted 990 kilometers east of northeastern Mindanao.
The LPA has a slim chance of developing into a storm. It is expected to bring rainy weather conditions on the weekend as it enters the country’s vicinity.
Several areas have announced class suspensions due to the inclement weather conditions. This announcement comes from various local government units (LGUs) as they prioritize the safety of students, teachers, and school personnel amidst heavy rainfall.

- Bohol – all levels (both public and private)
- Negros Oriental – preschool to senior high school (both public and private)
- Cebu
– Barili – preschool to senior high school (both public and private)
– Liloan – preschool to senior high school (both public and private)
– Minglanilla – all levels (public and private)
– Talisay City – preschool to senior high school (public)
- Davao City – all levels (public and private)
