PAGASA Says Shear Line and Northeasterly Windflow to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that Shear Line and Northeasterly Windflow will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Friday (October 20, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The Shear Line and Northeasterly Windflow will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that Shear Line affecting Central Luzon. Northeasterly Windflow affecting Northern Luzon.

The Northeasterly Windflow will bring cloudy weather with rains over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, and Kalinga. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

“Inaasahan po natin ang maulap na kalangitan na may mga pag-ulan sa mga lalawigan po ng Batanes, Cagayan, Apayao, Isabela and Kalinga. Samantala itong nalalabing bahagi po ng Luzon ay maggiging maganda at maaliwalas po ang panahon,” PAGASA Weather Specialist: Aldczar D. Aureliosaid.

The Localized Thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms over the Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.

The Shear Line / Localized Thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over Metro Manila and the rest of the country. Flash floods or landslides in these areas are possible during severe thunderstorms.

The coastal water condition over Luzon will be moderate to rough. The entire Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro as well as the rest of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.
