The Sri Lankan Embassy issues an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to be allowed of entry to the country. If you are applying for a Tourist Permit, you can stay up to 30 days in the country. The ETA is valid for 180 days and allows double entry.
If you obtained a Business Visa, the permit allows a 30-day stay in Sri Lanka. It is valid for up to 180 days and also allows a double entry. The Sri Lanka Transit Visa allows a single entry for a maximum of two (2) days stay in the country.
It is best to prepare the requirements for Sri Lanka Visa application first before starting with the online application. The application will be done to the Sri Lanka EVISA website.
The nationals of Seychelles, Singapore, and Maldives may enter Sri Lanka even without a travel visa. For nationals from the other countries allowed for an ETA, here are the requirements for Sri Lanka Visa application process that you must prepare:
- valid passport
- valid for a minimum of six (6) months from the date of arrival
- must have two (2) blank pages
- photo of the passport information page
- must be in plain background
- can taken using a phone or camera
- invitation letter for tourist visa application
- business card for business visa application
- hotel booking confirmation (optional)
- negative PCR test 72 hours before arrival or Double Vaccination Certificate
