PAGASA Says Habagat & Localized Thunderstorms to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that habagat and localized thunderstorms will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Saturday (October 7, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon and the localized thunderstorms will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that Typhoon Jenny was located 640 kilometers west of Itbayat, Batanes, packing maximum sustained winds of 155 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 190 kph.

However, another, tropical depression was spotted 3,100 km east of the Visayas. It packs maximum sustained winds of 45 kph and gustiness of up to 55 kph. It moves at 20 kph in a northwestward direction.

The Southwest Monsoon affects the western section of Northern and Central Luzon.

Habagat / Localized Thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms over the entire Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather conditions.

The weather agency has warned the public for possible flash floods and landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern and Central Luzon and the western section of Southern Luzon as well as the remaining parts of the country will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.
