WALANG PASOK – Several local government units have declared class suspensions in some areas due to inclement weather conditions.

Over the past few days, Typhoon Jenny has been affecting the country’s weather conditions. Heavy rains and gusty winds were felt in several areas.

Jenny was spotted 385 kilometers west-northwest of Itbayat, Batanes outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. It has maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 150 kph. It is unlikely to directly bring heavy rainfall over the country.

Class Suspensions

The typhoon’s effect on the southwest monsoon has weakened but it may still bring cloudy weather with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Ilocos Norte, Batanes, and Babuyan Islands.

The southwest monsoon will bring cloudy skies with rains over Metro Manila, Zambales. Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, and the rest of Ilocos Region.

The weather agency also warned the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
