Proo of Identity
- valid passport or Certificate of Identity
- 1 acceptable photo if you apply online, or 2 photos if you use a paper application form
Health Documents
The Embassy requires a chest x-ray and a medical examination from visitors as part of the requirements for New Zealand visa application. If you are staying less than six (6) months in the country, you won’t need to submit a chest x-ray. If you are staying less than 12 months, you don’t need to submit a medical certificate.
Good Character
For visitors who will be staying 24 months or longer in New Zealand, police certificates may be requested for visa application. Meanwhile, travelers who are 16 years and below are not required to submit police certificates.
Genuine Intention
Submit documents that support your visa application proving your genuineness in your purpose to visit New Zealand. These documents may include your travel itinerary. If you are coming to the country for another purpose, you must consider other visa types based on your intention:
- Work Visa — for purposes of employment
- Visa for a special purpose — if you are traveling to attend a work conference, to accompany a partner
- Medical Treatment Visitor Visa — if you are visiting the country for medications
- Business Visa — if you are visiting the country to conduct or undertake business
Funds or Sponsorship
- If your are paying for yourself, you must be able to prove that you have at least NZD $1,000 per month if you have yet to pay for your accommodation in full. If you have already paid for your accommodation, you must have at least NZD $400 per month. You may submit:
- bank statements or credit card statements
- proof of accommodation pre-payment, like hotel pre-paid vouchers or receipts
- bank drafts or travellers’ cheques
- If a sponsor will be paying for you, the following documents must be provided:
- recent bank statements
- employment agreement
- pay slips
- accommodation ownership or payment of rent
Health Care
You must declare in your visa application that you will shoulder all the costs of possible medical treatments during your stay in New Zealand.
