PAGASA Says LPA and Habagat to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau has reported that a low-pressure area and the habagat will bring rain over parts of the country.
On Friday, September 15, 2023, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update for the country. A low-pressure area and the southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA reported that a low-pressure area was spotted 405 kilometers north-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes. The southwest monsoon will continue to bring cloudy skies and rain showers over Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

“Yung low pressure area na binabantayan natin ay bahagyang kumilos palapit sa Taiwan at Batanes Area. Kaninang alas-tres ng madaling araw, ang layo ng low pressure area ay nasa 405 kilometers sa may northeast ng Itbayat Batanes,” weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.
The habagat will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Zambales, Bataan, Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga.
The southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

“Kasalukuyan, maulap ang kalangitan sa malaking bahagi ng ating bansa dahil pa rin sa habagat o southwest monsoon,” he added.
Aurelio said that the habagat will continue to affect the country’s weather conditions until Saturday, September 16. The country is expected to experience fair weather conditions with isolated rains on Sunday, September 17.
The weather agency advised residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
