PAGASA Says Trough of Low-Pressure Area and Southwest Monsoon to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that a trough of LPA and habagat will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Tuesday (September 12, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The trough of a low-pressure area and habagat will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that a low-pressure area was spotted 790 kilometers east northeast of Basco, Batanes. The trough of low-pressure area and habagat will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers expected in some parts of the country.

The southwest monsoon will bring cloudy weather conditions and rain showers over the Bicol Region, Mimaropa, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, and Northern Samar.

The LPAs trough will bring similar weather conditions over Batanes and Cagayan.

The monsoon and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

The coastal water conditions over Northern Luzon as well as the remaining parts of the country will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.
