Juan Ponce Enrile Makes Distasteful Remarks Against Vice Ganda: ‘Bastos Kang Tao”
Juan Ponce Enrile lambasted the behavior of Kapamilya television host Vice Ganda saying, “Bastos Kang Tao”.
Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile recently made headlines with his strong remarks about Vice Ganda, a Kapamilya television host, stating, “Bastos Kang Tao”. His statement garnered various reactions from the online community.
The issue at the center of this controversy revolves around the “icing incident” involving Vice Ganda and Ion Perez during the “Isip Bata” segment of ‘It’s Showtime.’ The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) issued a 12-day suspension due to the incident.
However, the show continued to air despite a 12-day suspension imposed by MTRCB after filing a Motion for Reconsideration to appeal the suspension.
Enrile did not mince words when he expressed his disapproval of Vice Ganda’s behavior and accused him of being arrogant and disrespectful. He criticized the host of not considering the welfare of others and being self-centered in his actions.
“Ang binigay na katangian mo sa lipunan ay hindi mo na tinitingnan ang kapakanan nung mga iba. Sarili mo na lang ang iniisip mo. Akala mo maganda ang ginagawa mo pero bastos ka, bastos kang tao!” Enrile said.
The politician pointed out that Vice Ganda had a history of making offensive remarks, particularly towards women. He argued that the celebrity had built his career and popularity on rudeness and disrespect.
“Hindi lang walang decency kungdi abusado. Alam ko na mapagpatawa yang binabanggit mo na babae, magmula pa ng araw ganyan na yan… you’re earning your living and popularity sa kabastusan,” he added.
