To be eligible to apply for a Canadian visa, the applicant must meet the following criteria:

- no criminal or immigration-related convictions
- enough money for foreign stay
- ties with job, financial assets, or family as proof to return home
As mentioned earlier, there are specific documents that you must prepare and submit in the pursuit to obtain a travel visa. In the case of visiting Canada, here are the documentary requirements for Canada visa application:
- duly-accomplished IMM5257 Form / Application Form for Visitor Visa
- duly-accomplished Family Information Form (either the IMM5645E or IMM5707 Forms)
- valid Philippine passport
- digital photo
- Passport-size (35mm x 45mm)
- white background
- Proof of Purpose of Travel
- flight ticket departing Canada
- travel itinerary
- hotel booking
- If invited, submit the following documents:
- invitation letter
- a copy of their citizen card
- payslips or tax docs
- documents indicating travel history
- previous passports used within the last 10 years
- entrance and exit stamps
- expired and valid visas
- Proof of Means of Financial Support
- Certificate of Employment
- Bank statement for the past 4 months
- Income Tax Returns (ITR)
- proof of assets
- If traveling for business:
- SEC, DTI, or BIR registration documents
- Letter of explanation
If you are traveling with minor children, there are additional requirements for Canada visa application. Here are the other documents that you must prepare and submit to apply for travel visa:
If child is traveling alone:
- minor child’s own passport
- copy of birth certificate
- letter of authorization
- written in English or French if possible
- signed by both parents or by legal guardian
- indicate’s parents’ address and telephone number
- indicate’s name, address and telephone number of adult who will take care of the child
If a minor child is travelling with one parent only:
- minor child’s own passport
- copy of birth certificate
- letter of authorization
- written in English or French if possible
- signed by both parents or by legal guardian
- indicate’s parents’ address and telephone number
- indicate’s name, address and telephone number of adult who will take care of the child
If a minor child’s parents are separated and share custody:
- minor child’s own passport
- copy of birth certificate
- copies of the legal custody documents
- letter of authorization from the other parent who has custody to take the child on a trip
