Late veteran broadcaster Mike Enriquez was married to Lizabeth Yumping and Mel Tiangco has these stories about them.
“It is with profound sadness that GMA Network announces the passing of our beloved Kapuso, Mr. Miguel ‘Mike’ C. Enriquez, who peacefully joined our Creator on August 29, 2023,” says the statement of GMA Network as they confirmed the passing of Mike Enriquez.
The multi-awarded newsman was married to Lizabeth “Baby” Yumping and they have no children. And recently, as the day he will be laid to rest approaches, one of the persons close to him shares some stories about him and his wife. One of them is Mel Tiangco.
In her eulogy, she shared that she and Mike have worked together for 30 years in a couple of news programs. And being able to work with him for this length of time, she can easily determine whether he was having a bad day or not.
And talking in front of the crowd, Mel shared, “I will tell you, from a woman’s heart, I can say, mahal na mahal niya si Baby.”
According to her, he would always rush to go him because his wife cooked something for him and no one could touch or alter his outfit fixed by his wife Baby. He wouldn’t let other people change how his wife styled him.
‘Hindi, okay lang yan! Si Baby gumawa nito!’ were the words of the late broadcaster before.
Even is noseline. When he was alive, he would prefer it darker as that was accordingly the way his wife liked it to be.
‘Hindi! Si Baby ang may gusto nito! Si Baby nanonood araw-araw para bantayan yung ilong ko!’ he said to her when she asked him about it one time. Mel then added based on a post from PEP, “So, di namin mapakialamanan yung ilong niya.”
