Ogie Diaz has his post after reports about Jay Sonza being arrested and jailed emerged online.
Former TV host and reporter, Jay Sonza is currently detained in the Quezon City Jail quarantine facility and Ogie Diaz has this post.
Currently detained at the Ligtas Covid Center Quarantine Facility of the Quezon City Jail in Payatas, Quezon City is Jay Sonza. He is formerly a host and a broadcaster. He is in the spotlight anew but this time, because of his arrest and detention.
In a previous article, Sonza faced criminal cases such as estafa and syndicated and large-scale illegal recruitment.
He was initially placed under the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation Manila before he was turned over to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP). He was arrested at the airport after the Bureau of Immigration (BI) found that he has pending cases and an active arrest warrant.
The arrest at NAIA happened last July 18 and he was on his way to Hong Kong.
Quezon City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 100 issued a commitment order for estafa (article 315, paragraph 2(a) of the Revised Penal Code, and syndicated and large-scale illegal recruitment (section 6(m), in relation to section 7(b) of Republic Act No. 8042 or the Migrant Workers Overseas Filipinos Act of 1995.
If found guilty, he will be facing jail time for up to 20 years for estafa and up to 12 years for illegal recruitment, and a fine of up to Php 500,000.00.
Amid the buzz following this report, Ogie Diaz, the one he has criticized before, spoke. In a Facebook post, he expressed that he suddenly felt pity for his children and grandchildren.
To recall, Sonza noted “pagsasamantala” during the height of the Soberano-Diaz issue. He stressed that the actress has become a milking cow by her handler and management.
But despite this, he will be praying for his inner peace and he hopes that he can surpass this. Instead of mocking, he’d rather pray for his healing and could only wish that this may serve as a lesson for him.
“Tumanda nang may pinagkatandaan,” he wrote towards the end of his post.
