Andrea Brillantes started her showbiz career when she was just 7 years old
Kapamilya actress Andrea Brillantes narrated how she became a child star and eventually became the breadwinner of their family.
Andrea is one of the most popular young actresses nowadays. Aside from being an actress, her endorsement projects also keep on coming one after the other. Although she is still young, she already had some controversies under her name, especially when it was confirmed a few months ago that she and basketball player Ricci Rivero broke up.
Despite that controversial phase in her life, Andrea said that she is healing. Previously, she talked about betrayal after moving on from the breakup.
In a recent vlog, based on the article in Philstar Life, the actress shared her humble beginnings in showbiz. She said that her career started after joining a beauty pageant when she was just seven years old.
Their family needed money for her brother’s hospital bills after he had an accident. From that beauty pageant stint, Andrea pursued a career in showbiz and did auditions.
However, back when she was four years old, her mother already made her audition for a project. At that time, she has nothing to showcase yet when it comes to her talent and so they failed.
“Nag-give up na si mama sa dreams niya na maging artista ako nun, pero nung nanalo ako ng beauty pageant nung seven years old ako, nagkaroon ako ng confidence na ‘Oh my god, I think pinanganak ako para sa mundong ito,'” the actress shared.
Behind her successful acting career, Andrea said that it is not all glitz and glamour. She admitted that there were times when she thought of giving up her career and leaving her responsibility as the breadwinner at a young age.
“Ang bigat-bigat din kasi ng mga tapings ko lately, feeling ko kinailangan ko ‘to na mabalikan ko kung saan ako nagsimula,” the former child star expressed. However, Andrea Brillantes said that she is happy with everything that she has achieved.
