The membership to the state run social insurance institutions undeniably widens the resources of the members. In the case of the GSIS members, one of the offers is the Employees Compensation Insurance Fund or the ECIF.

The ECIF is also called the State Insurance Fund. It provides financial assistance for the sickness, disability, and death of a GSIS member working in the public and private sector. The sickness, disability, or death must due to a disease or accident that occured out of or in the course of work.
