Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte Told by VP Sara about his Worried Supporters
RODRIGO DUTERTE – Vice President Sara Duterte relayed the message of the former President for his supporters who are worried about him.
Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is currently detained at the ICC (International Criminal Court) detention facility in Scheveningen. The ICC welcomed the arrest and transfer of Duterte who was immediately flown out from the Philippines on the day of his arrest.

The former President just arrived from Hong Kong when the Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested him as an assistance to the Interpol. He was detained at the Villamor Air Base for several hours and the day ended with his flight to Dubai en route for the Netherlands.
Duterte flew with former executive secretary Salvador Medialdea, a special assistant, and a nurse. Medialdea allegedly replaced the former president’s partner, Honeylet Avanceña, who allegedly refused to go with Duterte.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte was quick to follow her father to the Netherlands. She exited the Philippines early the following day and is now in The Hague to support the former President. They were able to talk during her one-hour visit at the detention facility.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte talked to the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who came to the International Criminal Court (ICC) to show their support to former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. She also shared her conversation with the former Chief Executive.

According to Vice Pres. Duterte, she told the former President that his supporters are worried about his situation. There are countless Duterte supporters’ gathering across the nation following the arrest of the former Chief Executive.
“Sabihin mo sa kanila, ‘Relax lang, may hangganan ang lahat. There will be a day of reckoning for all,'” the Vice President said referring to the message of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte for his supporters.
Former Pres. Duterte has recently made his initial appearance before the ICC. He appeared remotely and followed the proceedings through a video link while he stayed at his detention area. He was personally represented by his legal counsel, Atty. Salvador Medialdea.
