REQUIREMENTS FOR KOREAN VISA APPLICATION – Here are the documents needed by Filipino spouses of Koreans to obtain a travel visa for a temporary visit.

A lot of Filipinos are married to foreign nationals. Some of these couples met online while others met while the Pinoy is working in a foreign country. Some of these foreign nationals are Koreans who often have to stay long in their home country. In these cases, it is usually the Filipinos who decide to travel abroad most especially if the Koreans are the husbands who have continue working.

However, it is not very easy for Filipinos to enter Korea as it is one of the countries that require a travel visa for visits. Even Pinoys who are married to Korean nationals may not find it easy to be allowed for entry.

If you are one of the Filipinos who want to visit your Korean partner in Korea, you will need a travel visa which has specific requirements for application depending on the purpose of the visit.

The authorities in Korea have crafted different lists of requirements for employed individuals, Filipinos who will be visiting their partners in Korea, business purposes, children of Koreans, etc.

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Philippines posted this list of requirements for Korean visa application for Filipinos who are married to Koreans:

  • Application Form
  • 1 piece of Passport size colored picture
  • Original Passport
  • Photocopy of Passport Bio-page (page 2)
  • Original & Photocopy of valid visa/s and arrival stamps to OECD member countries for the past 5 years (If applicable only)
  • PSA Original Marriage Certificate
  • Copy of Certificate of Korean Marriage History (detailed, valid for 3 months)
  • Photocopy of Bio-page of Korean’s Passport
  • Invitation Letter from Korean Spouse
  • Photocopy of Korean’s Philippine Visa and ACR I-Card
    • it is possible to have a multiple visa
  • Original Employment Certificate(issued within 3 months) or DTI (or SEC) of Korean Spouse

According to the Embassy, if the Filipino who will be visiting Korea has a child/children born Korean, the Korean’s Family Register Certificate is required.
