JM de Guzman shared how he prepared for his role in ‘The Iron Heart’
Kapamilya actor JM de Guzman revealed that he researched religious leaders for his role in the second season of primetime The Iron Heart.
JM has done several teleseryes in the past years. The last one he did was two years ago. It was the drama series Init Sa Magdamag. For his recent stint in the primetime series, he is portraying the character of Brother Joseph, a religious leader.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Philippine Ultimate Showbiz Hub, JM talked about his role.
The Kapamilya actor said, “Naniniwala siya na meron siyang close connections sa nakatataas and tumutulong siya sa kapwa niya, sa mga members niya. And hanggang dun pa lang ang puwede ko sabihin.”
JM de Guzman stressed that for now, they do not want to give more clues about his character. However, one thing that the viewers can expect about his character is that he is a good person. “Sobra niyang good boy. Yun pa lang (laughs),” the actor added.
For this specific role, JM shared that he really prepared really well by doing research. He studied how religious leaders speak and act.
“May mga rinesearch ako na religious leaders pero hindi ko na lang sasabihin kung sino sila. The way they talk, the way they move, yung pagiging charismatic nila. Kasi required sa character ko na maging charismatic siya so sana na-po-portray ko ng maayos,” JM said.
Since The Iron Heart is an action series, JM also prepared his physique for the role. He is running and stretching in order to prepare his body and avoid injury.
JM de Guzman also shared what he loves about the series. He said that the primetime action-drama series has an unpredictable story. He also pointed out how the drama and action scenes were done well.
